In OZmap it is possible to move elements from one project to another, as long as these projects have some main - subproject relationship. You can move elements from a main project to the subproject or from the subproject to the main project. Moving items from one subproject to another directly or to projects that do not have a main project in common is impossible.

This can be done in two ways: by moving just one element or by moving an entire area.

To move an area, you must select the area containing the items you want to switch projects.

A window will open with the information for the area you selected, and from there you can click “Switch Project,” like in the image below:

To move a single element, you need to right-click on it and select "Switch to subproject", in case you are in the main project, or "Switch to main project", in case you are in the subproject.

Or in the area report itself, you can select which cables, boxes, clients, etc, that you want to exchange, as shown in the following picture:

In both cases, the following window will open and there you can choose which project the items will be sent to.

Some rules must be observed when changing project elements:

If you have a cable from a subproject 'X' connected to a box in the main project and you want, within the main project, to change this same box to another subproject 'Y', the system will indicate that "the operation cannot be applied to all elements", since that element has a connection to another subproject.

The same thing happens when there are one or more cases when you're changing an entire project area.

Shared Box

You can select one or more boxes from a subproject to appear in the main project. It is possible to connect a Backbone cable to a box in a subproject and continue the route with the Backbone. This box will not appear in all the projects related to the main project, that is, between subprojects, since it is a unique relationship between the main project and one of the subprojects, where it is available in the main project for this cable crossing to exist.

To create a shared box, you need to right-click on the subproject box and select "share box with main project", like in this image:

In the main project, it will be marked:

If the triangle points down, this indicates that you are viewing a shared box of the main project, but if it points up, it will indicate that you're viewing it at the subproject.

If you are trying to move a box from a main project to a subproject, and in that box there is a cable from the main project that will not be moved to the subproject, this box will be shared automatically, as this is not possible to have a cable from the main project connected in a single box of the secondary project without it being shared.

Once again in the area report, it is also possible to share several boxes at the same time. You'll just need to access the "Boxes" tab, select the ones that will be shared, and go to the "Tools" button, where it will be necessary to select the "Share with parent projects" button ".

To stop sharing, the process is the same, but the button to select is  "Stop sharing with parent projects" instead of  "Share with parent projects."
