The template is a design tool that enables the creation of standard box configurations. Therefore, when creating a box in the project, you can select a pre-designed template, simplifying the diagram editing process.

Creating a Template

Access to the Box Template area is located in the Customization sector (represented by the pencil icon), situated in the bottom-left corner of the system.

Within the Template area, you can visualize all the box templates already created. By default, some options are already available. You can edit an existing template by clicking on the "i" icon or create a new template by selecting the "New Box Template" option.

When choosing to create a new template, a new window, very similar to the box editor, will automatically open. There, you will find all the options of elements that can be added within a box (splitter, switch, merger, connector, and DIO), in addition to the "Name" field, where a name can be given to your new template.

In this example, we configured a template for a Hub. We added two types of splitters: an unbalanced Splitter 55/45 NF and another for Client Service (01x08 BC).

Customizing Your Box

To personalize your box with a specific template, simply create a "New Box Type" or edit an existing model at the "i" option. This action will be available in the Type sector on the left corner of the platform, within the Box area.

When selecting the "New Box Type" option, you can edit the information of your settings by placing the desired template in the "Standard Template" option.

Right below there’s an example of a customized HUB with the template "SPL 01x08 BC + SPL 55/45" previously created.

Then, when new boxes are created in the project, the customized boxes with the templates will appear available under the Type option.

Another way to add a created template when adding boxes to your project is by selecting the Template option during the configuration of the Add Box or Add Multiple Boxes. Here, you can add the desired template to the created boxes.

Box importation

Another utility of the template is in the process of importing boxes, making it easier to draw their interior. To use a pre-made Box Template during importation, simply add the column "template" to the file and fill it out as required. Here's an example of an edited file:

If the established box type has a default template, the boxes will be created according to this parameter. To learn more about the importation process, click here.
